How video uniquification works
Many Video Unique Booster settings have a range, not a single value. There are 77 such settings. They are all collected in one table in the settings reference. A range has two bounds: a lower one and an upper one. In the app window the bounds are shown as labels above the slider handles. The settings file columns carry the same names: От ("From") and До ("To"). When creating each copy, the app takes a random value from the range. So one copy gets some parameters, and the second gets others. The files come out different.
The "Guided tour" inside the app describes it like this:
You set a range of values. After that the app picks a random value for every copy on its own. For example, the "Change brightness" setting now has a range from -10 to +10. One copy gets +7 of brightness, another one -3.
How to read a range in the settings
A setting with a range has three parts. These are the switch, the slider with two handles and the bound labels. The tooltip of most such settings ends with one line: "A random value is picked from the allowed range in the slider below". Other settings do not have this line. These are "Crop edges", "Overlay noise on the video", "Camera zoom" and the equalizer bands. They work the same way.
The slider has its own limits. A range cannot be moved beyond them. For "Change brightness" these are -50 and 50. For "Rotate video" they are also -50 and 50. For "Stabilization" they are 1 and 100. The limits -180 and 180 belong to the rotation of the watermark and of the video in the template. There is no single scale. Settings have different limits.
The width of the range sets how strongly the copies will differ. A narrow range gives similar copies. A wide one gives a noticeable spread. The image changes are more noticeable too.
What you can change: setting sections
On the left of the project window is a rail of six icons. Each icon opens a card with settings pages.
| Rail section | Pages inside |
|---|---|
| MATERIAL | "Imported videos", "Sources" |
| FRAME | "Geometry and framing", "Duration and transitions" |
| STYLE | "Light and tone", "Color correction", "Texture and detail" |
| OVERLAYS | "Watermark", "Text", "Template" |
| AUDIO | "Video sound", "Additional audio" |
| OUTPUT | "Metadata", "Performance", "Export" |
A project has 150 settings. Another 54 are in the integration windows. That is why the top of the window has the "Search settings..." search bar.
You do not need to pick from them at random. Turn on the ones you use in manual uniquification. If you changed brightness by hand, turn on "Change brightness". If you shortened the duration, turn on "Change video duration". The app applies the settings you chose to each copy.
Geometry and framing
Here you change the shape and position of the image. "Scale video" changes the scale of the image. The resolution of the file itself stays the same. "Rotate video" turns the frame by a random angle. The app scales the frame up so that no black corners are left. "Crop edges" cuts a few pixels off each side. For each side the app takes its own random number. Then it stretches the frame back. The shift is almost invisible. Still, the app recalculates every pixel.
The same page has "Lens distortion", "Perspective", "Stabilization", "Frame border" and "Camera zoom". The "Mirror the video horizontally" setting is placed separately. The "Randomly" option mirrors the image with a 50% probability. All seven settings of the page are covered in frame geometry.
Duration and transitions
"Change video duration" changes the duration of each copy by a random value. "Add fade in" and "Add fade out" set the time of fading in and fading out. The app counts the moment the fade out starts from the final duration. So the fade out works correctly together with the "Change video duration" setting. "Frame blending" averages several neighboring frames. This setting changes every frame of the video. The page is covered in duration and transitions.
Light, tone and color
"Light and tone" has four settings: "Change brightness", "Change contrast", "Change gamma" and "Change exposure". All four work the same way. Each copy gets its own random value from the range.
On the "Color correction" page the settings are more complex. The app divides the video into light, mid and dark parts. In each part it changes the balance of red, green and blue. The "Change color temperature" setting is there too. Negative values make the image warmer, positive ones make it cooler. Brightness does not change. Both pages are covered in light, tone and color.
Texture and detail
This page changes not the shape or the color but the pixels themselves. "Overlay noise on the video" recalculates the noise for each frame of each copy. So each frame has its own noise pattern. "Noise reduction" works the other way round. It removes noise and grain. The app recalculates every pixel of the frame while doing so.
This page also has "Change sharpness", "Adaptive sharpness", "Smart blur", "Blur", "Add vignette", "Chromatic aberration", "Debanding", "Pixelation" and "Overlay a grid on the video". The page is covered in texture and detail.
Overlays
"Watermark" and "Text" are built the same way. You mark placement areas on the frame. For each copy the app picks one area at random. Details: watermark.
Text supports randomization - spintax. The formula {Link|More} in {bio|profile} gives one copy "Link in bio" and another "More in profile". For the font, the text color and the background color you set a list. From it the app takes one random option for each video. The page is covered in text on video.
"Template" combines the main video with an additional one. For each copy the app takes a random additional video. From it, it takes a random segment. Covered in what a template is.
Audio and output
"Video sound" changes the volume and pitch of the original track. "Change audio pitch" shifts the pitch of the sound. The playback speed does not change. "Audio equalizer" changes the spectrum. The difference is almost impossible to hear. For each band the app takes its own random value for each copy. "Additional audio" adds a track from an audio file or a video. The track can repeat until the end of the video. It can start from a random place. Both pages are covered in audio and equalizer.
"Metadata" writes metadata from a real video editor into the file. The app does not carry it over from the original. It creates new metadata for each copy. The "Performance" page has compression, codec and container. It also has "Keyframe interval". It rebuilds the structure of the file. The image does not change. Covered in metadata and performance.
Why strong values spoil the video
The point of the settings is to change the file without spoiling it for the viewer. The app's tooltips state where changes become noticeable:
| Setting | What the tooltip says |
|---|---|
| "Pixelation" | At 4-5 pixels the picture already goes openly "blocky". Values that make sense are 2-3 |
| "Desaturate video" | At 20-30% the viewer already sees the colors as muted. Keep it at 5-15% for uniquification that goes unnoticed |
| "Frame blending" | Values that make sense are 2-3 frames; more than that leaves a visible trail |
| "Add vignette" | At a low strength of 5-15% the viewer will not notice it |
| "Rotate video" | Small angles of 1-3° change pixels noticeably while staying invisible to the viewer |
Strong values also slow the work down. "Stabilization" slows video creation down noticeably. "Opacity" and "Corner rounding" in the template redraw every frame in full. Because of this, video creation may take longer.
In the lower left corner is the project complexity counter. It adds up the complexity of all settings that are on. The higher the complexity, the lower the speed of video creation. When videos are created in the cloud, the cost depends on complexity too. A click on the counter opens a table of the settings that are on, with their complexity.
How to check the settings before a bulk start
- Open a video with a double click on its row in the list of imported videos.
- Press "Preview". The app creates one video with the current settings. This does not affect bulk video creation.
- Look at the result with the "Result" button. If creating the preview takes long, turn on "Express preview". Then the preview works only on the first second of the video.
Step by step: first video. The number of copies and the save folder: export settings.
Frequently asked questions
Why do two copies come out similar to each other?
The ranges are narrow or few settings are on. By default six settings work, all with the range -10..10: "Change brightness", "Change contrast", "Change sharpness", "Scale video", "Change video duration" and "Change volume". The other settings are off. Two more switches on the "Color correction" page are shown as on but are not applied: the main switch of that page, "Use color correction", is off. Covered in light, tone and color. Please turn on settings on different pages and widen the ranges.
How do I check that the copies are really different?
The app has a similarity check. It compares finished videos with the original and with each other. It can recreate or delete copies that are too similar. It is off by default. Covered in similarity check.
Should I turn on all settings at once?
No. Each setting you turn on adds complexity to the project. That means the time for each video grows too. When videos are created in the cloud, the cost grows as well. Strong values are also visible to the viewer. Details: result quality.
What happens if I set "From" higher than "To"?
You cannot do this in the app window. A slider handle stops against the other one and does not move further. There is always a gap of at least one unit between the bounds. You cannot type a number into the label above a handle either: the value is reduced to the limit of the range.
A reversed pair can come only from the settings file. The app rejects such a pair and returns both bounds to their previous values. The refusal line says: "The "From" bound is greater than the "To" bound".
If a reversed pair still got into the project, video creation does not start. The app names the settings with a reversed range and shows "A setting range is the wrong way round". The daily video limit is not used up by such a refusal.
Does the file resolution change if I turn on scaling?
No. "Scale video" changes the scale of the image inside the frame. The resolution of the file itself stays the same. When scaled down, a blurred copy of the same frame is visible around the frame. When scaled up, the edges of the frame end up beyond the border.
