Cloud storage: how to download finished videos
"VUB Cloud storage" is a window with the list of videos the cloud created over the last 24 hours. In normal work you do not need it. The app downloads the finished file by itself and saves it in the save folder. The storage is needed when the automatic download did not happen. Most often there is one reason: the app closed too early.
When the storage comes in handy
- The app closed during cloud work.
- The device restarted or shut down.
- The connection broke, and the download did not finish.
- The project tab was closed before the work finished.
In all these cases the video has already been created in the cloud. You can get it within a day.
How to tell that a video has to be taken from the storage
There are three signs:
- In the project's results table the video has the "Cloud error" status, and the error text mentions the download.
- The app closed before the work finished, and there are fewer files in the save folder than videos in the queue.
- The project tab was closed while cloud tasks had not finished yet.
The storage is not tied to the open project. It shows everything the cloud created within a day, for all your projects at once.
How to open the storage
Please do four steps:
- Press the menu button in the header of the main window.
- Choose the "Global integrations" item.
- Find the "VUB Cloud" card and press "Open".
- In the "VUB Cloud" window, press "Open storage".
The second way is shorter. The header of the main window has a settings search. It leads straight to the "VUB Cloud" subwindow.
The subwindow is small. It has the subtitle "Videos created in the cloud over the last 24 hours" and one button. The description under it says: "Open the storage to view videos created in the cloud and download the selected ones keeping the folder structure."
What the storage window shows
The window is called "VUB Cloud storage". It is closed with the cross and the Escape key.

The tree has three levels: project, then video creation run, then file. The top level is the project name or "No project". The middle one is the date, time and number of files. The bottom one is the relative path of the file. The "Size" column shows the file size or a dash.
The order list changes only how the tree looks. It does not go to the network.
The window shows no more than the 2000 most recent records within a day. If there were more tasks, the rest do not appear in the list, and the window does not warn about it.
How to download videos
Please do four steps:
- Press the folder icon and choose a folder on the disk.
- Mark a whole run or separate files in the tree. The Ctrl and Shift keys work.
- Press "Download selected".
- Wait for the line "Done. Files downloaded: 12".
The folder structure is kept. The files are laid out the same way as they would be with a normal save.
During the download the button is unavailable. At the bottom there is a progress bar and a line like "Downloading 3/12: rolik.mp4". At the end the window shows the message "Files downloaded: 12".
Downloading from the storage costs no credits. Credits are charged for video creation, not for downloading.
How long videos are kept
Exactly 24 hours. The period is counted from the moment the video was created in the cloud. This day is enough to get the finished files by hand.
After 24 hours the file is no longer in the cloud. It cannot be brought back either by waiting or by retrying. If the app tries to download the result after the period, the results table shows the text "The result has been deleted from the cloud: the 24-hour storage period has expired". Only one thing is left: create the video again. This is a new charge of credits.
The originals the app uploaded to the cloud are deleted together with the results. The app's tooltip says so too: "The original is deleted from the cloud."
What this window does not have
- You cannot delete a file from the cloud.
- You cannot rename a file.
- You cannot share a link.
- You cannot watch a video right in the window.
The window has only viewing the list and downloading.

Frequently asked questions
Why is the list empty?
The storage holds only videos from the cloud and only for the last 24 hours. Work on the device does not get here. If the cloud created nothing within a day, the window shows "No videos created in the cloud were found over the last 24 hours."
Can I get a video older than a day?
No. After 24 hours the file is no longer in the cloud. It cannot be restored.
Do I need to open the storage in normal work?
No. The app downloads the result by itself and saves it in the save folder.
Are credits charged for downloading from the storage?
No. The work is already paid for. Downloading is free and not limited in the number of attempts.
Where will the files go?
To the folder you chose in the window. Inside it the app repeats the folder structure of the project.
What do I do if the download broke down?
