Project integrations: what they are and where to find them
Integrations connect the open project to other systems. One downloads videos from the network. The second builds videos from photos. The third sends created videos to your address on the network. The fourth puts the device to sleep or shuts it down after export. All four are collected in one "Project integrations" window.
Where do I open the "Project integrations" window?
- Open a project.
- Press the round button at the very bottom of the narrow column on the left, under the project save button. It has no label. Its tooltip gives the name "Project integrations".
- On the card you need, press "Open".
The window covers its project, but the rest of the app keeps working. It is closed with the cross in the header. After it is closed, the tab rereads the project settings.
Why is this button missing in an empty project?
An empty project shows the start screen. There is no narrow column with buttons there yet. This stays so until at least one video is imported into the project or one source group is created.
From the start screen there is one way into the integrations. It is the "download a video by link" link under the "Import video" and "Add source" buttons. It opens the "ClipSave" window.
Which integrations are there?
| Integration | What it gives | What it needs from outside |
|---|---|---|
| "OS integration" | After export, puts the device to sleep or shuts it down on a timer | Nothing |
| "VideoGen" | Builds videos from photos downloaded from the network | Network access. Optionally, a proxy |
| "ClipSave" | Downloads videos from YouTube, Instagram, Twitter (X) and TikTok by link and in batches | Network access. Optionally, a cookie file and a proxy |
| "HTTP client integration" | Sends each created video to your address on the network | Your own server or service that accepts the upload. Network access |
The cards are in the same order from top to bottom. None of the four requires money. Nothing has to be installed separately.
Details are on separate pages:
- VideoGen: video from images;
- Sending created videos to your server;
- Sleep and shutdown of the device after video creation;
- Downloading videos by link.
Who do these settings belong to?
Each setting of these windows is written to the open project. It does not change other projects. In a new project the settings have to be set again. The tooltip of the window title says the same: "How the open project works with other systems. Does not affect other projects."
Not every window has a "Save" button. How the settings are written in each window:
| Window | How the settings are written |
|---|---|
| "OS integration" | Only with the "Save" button |
| "HTTP client integration" | Only with the "Save" button; when the window is closed, a question appears |
| "ClipSave" | Right away, as you edit. The window has no "Save" button |
| "VideoGen" | Only when "Generate video" is pressed. The window has no "Save" button |
How do "Global integrations" differ from this window?
"Global integrations" is a second window, and its settings are shared by the whole app. It opens from the menu in the header of the main window. The window subtitle is "App-level integrations".
| Window | Whose settings | What is inside |
|---|---|---|
| "Project integrations" | The open project's | "OS integration", "VideoGen", "ClipSave", "HTTP client integration" |
| "Global integrations" | The whole app's | The VUB Cloud cloud, "MCP server" |
The "MCP server" card has its own page: AI assistant: connecting to the app. The cloud is covered on the connecting to the cloud page.
Frequently asked questions
Will the integration settings appear in a new project?
No. They belong to the project where they were set. Set them again in a new project.
Why does a second "ClipSave" window not open?
It is already open. Pressing "Open" again brings the window to the top and does not create a second one.
Is the internet needed for integrations?
"OS integration" works without a network. The other three need a network.
How do I find a setting if I don't remember which window it is in?
Open the settings search and type the name. The search leads you with a hint to the right button, including the integration buttons. How it works: in the window description.
Can I use the app without opening these windows?
Yes. All four integrations are off by default or do nothing. The main work does not depend on them.
